Fireside Lounge

This place is incredibly nostalgic for my husband and me, so seeing it revamped and as it's own closed-in club is strange, but the changes they made are fascinating - the whole place feels like a moment in New York, absolute vibes. The Queen? Megan, our cocktail server. Come for the vibes, stay for Megan. She deserves a raise for her attitude, attention and service.

I personally just want to thank Megan for making my experience tonight beautiful, She shows hospitality not only did she service me. I watched her work the room she really deserves a raise. I don’t live here. I’m just in town for the night and I really want to thank her for being so kind.

Hidden gem of a bar buried deep inside the Peppermill Casino. Great place to take visitors to and never crowded on weekdays. Drink prices are are of course on the high side but they have a drink called The Scorpion which is actually a bargain at $30 as it comes in a huge glass that you get to take home and has 10 shots! (I assume it's meant to share LOL or you better be staying there or Ubering home.) The really cool thing I like about this place being a Gen X is they play music videos mostly from the 90's on screens located throughout. Service is great and the plush booths and circular seating around the fire are unique. Maybe not a local weekly watering hole but definitely fun to visit once in a while especially with out-of-towners.

Very very slow service - it took our group an hour to get a glass of wine and a diet coke and they still hadn’t arrived when we had to leave for our dinner reservation. Worse, this bar wouldn’t let us cancel the undelivered order (even an hour later) and insisted we pay anyway. There was only one bartender on duty for the entire place apparently (or so our server said when we asked after our drinks for the 5th time). Losing or forgetting an order is not the biggest deal, but still insisting the customer still pay when they don’t deliver until they’re leaving is sucky. Also decor wise, the fireplace is nice but the TVs on every surface are just annoying when you are trying to hang with friends and dont present a good vibe. Our server was friendly enough, but clearly afraid of a bad manager - kept saying things like “ my manager won’t let me do that”, “my manager wouldn’t like that” (for example when we asked if we could switch off only the one TV nearest to us).
